Franklin’s girls soccer squad has been terrific this season, sitting at 9-4-1 overall and holding the No. 7 seed in Division 1 soccer. After a shaky 3-4-1 start through the first eight games, the Panthers have flipped the script and gone unbeaten over their last six contests, compiling a 6-0 run of dominant performances.
On Tuesday night, Franklin picked up a commanding 7-0 victory over Nashoba Regional. The Wolves limited the Panthers to two goals in the first half, but Franklin exploded in the second half with five additional goals to put the match out of reach. The Panthers’ offense has been prolific recently; across their last six games, they have outscored opponents 29-4 and recorded three shutouts in that span, underscoring the level at which they are playing.
The quick turnaround continues for Franklin, which faces King Philip Regional today at 3:45 PM. King Philip enters with a 7-4-4 record and suffered a 7-2 loss to Franklin earlier this season, but tomorrow’s meeting will be an opportunity to solidify playoff positioning and keep the Panthers’ momentum rolling into the postseason run.
