Rising sophomore Jacoby Brown has dominated this summer, leading the Franklin Bulldogs to the inaugural 15U Northeast Summer Championship with a thrilling extra‑innings victory. Named tournament MVP and ranked the #5 overall performer, Brown’s two‑way talent was on full display.
On the mound in the tournament, Brown authored a complete‑game masterpiece: seven innings, five hits, one earned run, and eight strikeouts. When the bullpen door opened, he came in for a two‑inning save, allowing just one hit with another punchout to seal the win. Earlier in the Firecracker Northeast bracket, Brown earned Player of the Game honors in Game 2 after tossing seven shutout innings and striking out seven.
Brown’s prowess isn’t confined to pitching. In Game 5 of the tournament, he went 2‑for‑4 at the plate with a run scored, showcasing bat‑to‑ball skills that complement his arm. His performance has underscored the high ceiling he brings to the Franklin baseball program.
Back home, Brown will join a varsity squad hungry for postseason success after falling short last spring. With returning standouts surrounding him, the Bulldogs hope his summer momentum will translate into a deeper playoff run. Keep an eye on Jacoby Brown this fall; his blend of power, control, and competitive drive signals a bright future for Franklin baseball.
