Franklin High School has found its next Athletic Director, naming veteran administrator Gary Brown to the position following an extensive search process.
Brown brings decades of experience in educational athletics to Franklin, most recently serving as Athletic Director at King Philip Regional High School for the past nine years. Prior to his time at King Philip, Brown also served as Athletic Director at Harvard University.
In announcing the hire, Franklin High School Principal Dr. Maria Weber praised Brown’s leadership qualities and approach to student athletics.
“Throughout the interview process, Mr. Brown distinguished himself through his clear vision for educational athletics and student-centered philosophy,” Weber said.
Brown will take over the role at Franklin High School following July 1 as he prepares to lead one of the region’s most recognized athletic programs.
During his tenure at King Philip, Brown oversaw a highly successful athletic department that consistently competed at a high level across multiple sports. His background at both the high school and collegiate levels is expected to bring a wealth of experience to Franklin’s student-athletes, coaches, and athletic community.
Franklin Public Schools officials say they are excited to welcome Brown as the district continues its commitment to providing strong educational and athletic opportunities for students.
