Franklin Moves into Top Five After Six Straight Wins

Franklin Legion baseball climbed into the top five in their division with a 9-4 win over Foxboro last night. The Panthers have been on fire lately, winning six straight games and improving from .500 to 8-3 over the past two weeks. That surge into the No. 4 seed has been fueled by newfound consistency, particularly on the mound, after early struggles in the season’s first five outings.

During this six-game streak, Franklin hasn’t allowed more than four runs in a game, a marked improvement from earlier in the year. That lockdown pitching has given the offense plenty of breathing room. Lukas Phillip delivered another gem, working four innings of two-hit, scoreless ball while striking out four.

On the other end, Franklin’s lineup scored in bunches, led by Cole Sidwell and Patrick Luizzi, who combined for five hits and five RBIs. Even when Foxboro dented the relief corps, the Panthers’ complete-game mentality carried them through. With six straight wins under their belt, Franklin is a legitimate threat to keep climbing the standings. They’ll look to extend the streak tonight at Norwood, where first pitch is set for 7:30 PM.
