Franklin Legion baseball faced off against Easton last night in an important game for both squads. Franklin entered this one with a 3-3 record on the season, holding the No. 9 seed of fourteen. Easton, on the other hand, held the No. 12 seed with a 1-7 record. Franklin had an opportunity to get within striking distance of a top-six seed, while Easton desperately needed another win after their first win of the season against Norton last week. And Franklin delivered big time, beating Easton 9-1. This win helps Franklin begin its climb towards the top of the standings, due to huge performances across the roster. Firstly, Cameron Hasenfus had a gem, pitching seven innings, giving up one hit, zero runs, zero walks, and seven strikeouts. Cam completely shut down Northborough, allowing one baserunner, and his offense matched his performance. Matt Luccini had a great game in the batter’s box, getting three hits, with a triple and double, while Ethan Edmunds had two hits, a double, and an RBI. Franklin will face off against Sharon tonight in Sharon at 5:45 PM. Sharon has struggled winning one game this season, and gives Franklin a great avenue to get their third straight victory.
