Franklin Legion Baseball Captures Fifth Straight Win

Franklin Legion baseball faced off against Braintree last night in a quest for five straight wins. Franklin has been playing its best baseball of the season in this latest stretch, winning five straight games and moving into the top six teams of the division. Before this win streak, Franklin had been struggling with consistency, sitting at 2-3 to start the season. Franklin’s offense struggled to get into rhythm, and their run prevention left much to be desired. This all changed in a blowout game against Norton, which saw Franklin win 13-1. Franklin’s bats have come alive, but more importantly, their pitching staff has been dominant in their last four, only allowing two runs in these four games. Franklin kept this momentum going last night against Braintree and won 10-0. Pitcher Austin Campbell had a fantastic outing last night, going six strong innings, giving up just two hits and getting ten Ks. While first baseman Ethan Edmunds had a great outing with three RBIS. After this pivotal matchup, Franklin will have some rest for the All-Star game next Monday. After the festivities, Franklin will get back on the diamond next Tuesday against Foxboro, which is currently the No. 8 seed in the league with a 5-6 record. They have struggled as of late, losing three of their last four games.
