Uxbridge’s girls rebounded from a two-game skid to run past Bay Path 51-25 and snap a mini slide, improving to 3-3 on the season. The Spartans had an uneven start, losing their season opener to Douglas, followed by a three-game win streak, before suffering back-to-back losses to Maynard and Hopedale. However, the team asserted itself confidently in this dominant showing.
Emma Peloquin spearheaded the victory with 18 points, finding seams and converting in transition. Bronwyn LaChapelle added a rugged all-around line with 12 points, nine rebounds, and six assists, doing damage from inside and in ball distribution. Uxbridge’s defense clamped down, and the Spartans turned stops into quick offense, creating separation early and limiting Bay Path to one-dimensional looks.
Uxbridge must now turn its focus to Notre Dame Academy on Friday at 6 p.m., a squad that has struggled to a 1-6 record but arrives off a morale-boosting win over Blackstone Valley Tech. The Spartans will aim to carry the same energy, rebounding, and ball-sharing that generated points while continuing to tighten up perimeter defense against opposing shooters.
