The Holliston Panthers continued a successful cross country season by finishing third at the D2B championships, adding another strong result to a campaign highlighted by consistency and top-end talent.
Holliston entered the meet with momentum from a 4-1 regular-season record and a third-place finish at the TVL Championship, where Lucy Downin captured top honors in 18:01.5. At the D2B meet Downin again delivered, taking first individually with a time of 19:19, five seconds ahead of the runner-up, while Emerson Harrington placed ninth with a 21:01.74, giving the Panthers two runners in the top 10.
Holliston’s third-place team finish, behind Northampton and Amherst-Pelham, reflected the program’s steady presence in the regional mix all season. The Panthers’ combination of an elite frontrunner and reliable supporting scorers has kept them competitive meet after meet.
As the season progresses Holliston will lean on Downin and Harrington to continue producing high finishes and to push the team even higher in upcoming championship races. Keep an eye on Downin, a freshman who could add more hardware before the season concludes.
