Chargers Tennis Show Grit in Mixed Week

The Blackstone-Millville Chargers girls’ tennis team continued their week with a commanding 5–0 win over Montachusett RVT after pushing a playoff-bound Auburn squad to five sets earlier in the week. Against Montachusett, the Chargers were dominant from the first serve, singles players won convincingly, and both doubles teams closed out their matches decisively to seal the shutout. On Monday, Blackstone-Millville took the highly ranked Auburn Rockets to the brink with a back-and-forth battle that ultimately ended in a fifth-set defeat. The close loss, coming against an opponent firmly in the Division 4 playoff mix, demonstrated the Chargers’ ability to compete at a high level. Though they sit at No. 36 in D4, just outside the top-32 cutoff, this performance underscored their potential. Today at 2:30 PM, the Chargers visit Northbridge for their regular-season finale. With playoff qualification now unlikely, Blackstone-Millville will aim to end on a high note by building off its momentum from the Auburn and Montachusett matches. A win over Northbridge would cap the season with a bang and provide valuable confidence heading into the offseason.
