The Blackstone-Millville Chargers came up short in their second game of the season, falling to Sutton after a competitive contest in which second-half execution decided the outcome. The Chargers were within two points at halftime but scored just 12 in the second half while Sutton posted 19 points to pull away.

Ava Carroll posted a game-high 14 points for the visiting Sutton Suzies, while Courtney Clemens and Claire Acocelli chipped in ten apiece to help down the Chargers.

Marren Berry led Blackstone-Millville with nine points and eight rebounds, and Adrianna Girard added seven points, three boards, and three assists. The effort followed the Chargers’ season-opening 50-27 victory over Maimonides in which Natalia Morais poured in 25 points and recorded seven steals in a statement showing.

Blackstone-Millville will look to regroup and get back in the win column next Tuesday at 6 p.m. against AMSA, a team coming off a loss to Hopedale. The Chargers showed competitiveness and will aim to tighten late-game execution and shot selection as they press deeper into the regular season.
