The Worcester Bravehearts are coming off a record-setting summer. The club finished 45-16 last season, the highest win total in FCBL Summer League history, and paced the league in runs, homers, OBP, ERA, runs allowed, and stolen bases. Worcester’s 176 stolen bases came close to the Futures League summer mark, underscoring how dominant the Bravehearts were across the board, even though the team fell to the Norwich Sea Unicorns in the postseason.

With lofty expectations for the upcoming campaign, Worcester has named Joe Galvin its new head coach. Galvin currently leads the program at Fitchburg State University and brings a background that includes time with Shrewsbury Legion Post 397, a long-standing regional powerhouse. His résumé also includes service as a police lieutenant in Northborough, an experience the front office cited as adding leadership, structure, and toughness to the clubhouse.

Galvin inherits a deep roster and a winning culture but will also be tasked with pushing the Bravehearts beyond last year’s playoff exit. Fans should expect a blend of development and intensity under the new regime, and Worcester’s summer squad figures to be one of the teams to watch next season as Galvin settles into his new role.
