Hopedale’s girls basketball squad continued to assert itself with a 49-27 win over Northbridge, improving to 6-2 and staking a claim as a Division 5 contender. The Blue Raiders jumped out early and carried a 29-13 lead into halftime, then closed the door in the second half with disciplined defense and efficient scoring.

Phoebe Carroll was dominant on both ends, finishing with 21 points and 14 rebounds to anchor Hopedale’s interior presence. Jenna Weeden provided steady perimeter scoring with 12 points, and Layla Huntley chipped in a team-high 12 rebounds to control the glass and create second-chance opportunities.

Hopedale’s balance and physicality were on display throughout, as the Blue Raiders limited Northbridge’s transition opportunities and converted in the halfcourt. The win sets up a Thursday night challenge at Milford, a Scarlet-Hawks squad sitting at 4-2 and coming off a signature win over Attleboro. Hopedale will need to sustain its interior play and rebounding edge to continue asserting itself atop the D5 landscape.
