Blackstone Valley Girls Lacrosse Seeks Fundamentals Amid Struggles

The Blackstone-Valley RVT Beavers girls’ lacrosse team has endured a tough 2–10 season, hampered by ongoing challenges at both ends of the field. This week’s 9–4 loss to Tri-County, one of the region’s premier programs at 9–3-1, extended the Beavers’ losing streak to two straight games. The week before, this beavers squad was dismantled 12–4 by AMSA. Throughout the season, the Beavers have shown occasional flashes, most notably scoring a season-high 13 goals in a win over Montachusett Regional, but have struggled to turn defensive stops into offensive opportunities. Against Tri-County, Blackstone battled hard in the first half but couldn’t contain the Blue Raiders’ balanced attack. Their inability to maintain possession and sustain clearances has repeatedly undercut their efforts. Despite the lopsided results, the Beavers remain committed to improvement. With fundamentals still the key focus, ground-ball battles, accurate feeds, and defensive communication, Blackstone Valley will look to salvage pride in their upcoming match with Hopedale tonight at 6:15 PM. The Blue Raiders have also had an excellent season with a 10-3 record, but offer the Beavers a chance to upset and shift the season’s energy. As the season winds down, the team’s goal shifts to competing fiercely every day and laying the groundwork for a stronger campaign next spring.
