The Blackstone-Millville boys basketball team closed its season with a Round of 32 loss to Blue Hills Regional, a game in which the opposition’s depth and balanced scoring made the difference. Blue Hills showcased a deep starting rotation with five players reaching double digits, including Cam Skinner’s team-high 15 points and 11-point nights from Tyler Anderson and Bryan Prioli. Those contributions overwhelmed the Chargers’ attempts to find a sustained offensive rhythm in the second half.
Earlier in the postseason, Blackstone-Millville had defeated Mystic Valley in the Preliminary round, a game the Chargers controlled early and where they led 36-23 at the half. Jackson Dunton paced the team in that win with an impressive 33-point outburst. Karson Cournoyer added 19, and Cody Fletcher chipped in 11 as Blackstone-Millville used a high-octane first half to create separation. The Round of 32 matchup proved a tougher challenge, and the Chargers fell short against a deeper Blue Hills roster.
Finishing the year with a playoff win still gives the program momentum to build on. The team showed it can score in bunches and also exposed areas to shore up defensively against athletic, multi-threat opponents in the offseason.
