Blackhawks Look to Rebound Against Warriors

Bellingham’s Blackhawks volleyball team currently holds a 7-3 record and sits 33rd in the state rankings after suffering a 1-3 loss to Greater New Bedford RVT on Tuesday. Before that setback, Bellingham had enjoyed a three-match win streak—edging Medfield and Westwood by identical 3-2 scores and defeating Dighton-Rehoboth Regional 3-1. Now, the Blackhawks head to King Philip Regional this Monday at 4 PM, where the Warriors arrive with a 2-8 record and a desperate need for victories. To reclaim momentum, Bellingham will count on outside hitter Wagner Lourenco, who averages 2.9 kills per set, and middle hitter Hesrick Richards, noted for his efficient offense. Senior Esdras Goncalves will look to bolster the team’s serve with his 17 aces so far. The match presents an opportunity to refine serve-receive patterns and tighten blocking schemes before tougher conference clashes. If the Blackhawks can execute their offense consistently and shore up their defense, they should be poised to return to the win column and strengthen their position as postseason contenders.
