The Bellingham Blackhawks captured the program’s first Division 3 girls volleyball championship with a hard-earned 3-1 victory over Joseph Case in a match full of big moments and clutch plays. Bellingham arrived at the final as the top seed at 17-2 and faced a No. 2 Case team at 18-2 in a matchup that lived up to the billing.

The first set set the tone as a tense back-and-forth battle that Bellingham closed on an Aubrey Callery ace, winning 27-25. The second set again required extra points and saw Mia Milani answer Callery’s heroics to give the Blackhawks a 2-0 lead. Joseph Case pushed back in the third, taking it 25-21, but Bellingham closed the match in the fourth with a 25-18 set-winning effort capped by another clutch point from Milani.

This title is the culmination of a program turnaround that saw Bellingham rise from a 3-16 record in 2021 to three straight championship appearances and finally a crown. The Blackhawks’ balanced attack, timely serving, and veterans who stepped up in pressure moments delivered a milestone for the program and its supporters.
