Blackstone Valley girls’ hoops faced off against the Quaboag Cougars Tuesday night in a truly competitive affair that finished in dramatic fashion. The Beavers trailed 16-6 entering the second half, but steadily turned up the intensity. Blackstone Valley outscored the Cougars 7-3 in the third quarter and needed a huge fourth quarter to pull off the comeback.

The Beavers dominated the fourth, 15-4, edging out Quaboag and completing an impressive rally for the win. Julia Magill was instrumental in the turnaround, scoring eight of her 12 points in the fourth and going a perfect 6-6 from the line to help Blackstone Valley secure the victory. Elleigh MacNeil added five points for the Beavers, and Karley Petoin chipped in four.

The win moves Blackstone Valley to 6-8 on the season and brings them to 5-2 over their last seven games. The Beavers now have a week-long break before their next matchup at Millis next Tuesday at 6:30 PM. Millis enters with a 12-4 record and a three-game winning streak; the Mohawks have been fantastic this season and should provide Blackstone Valley with their toughest challenge to date.
