The Blackstone Valley Tech boys’ track and field team turned in a stellar performance Monday at the Colonial Athletic League Championship hosted by Assabet Valley. Facing nine total schools, the Beavers earned a second-place team finish, trailing only a commanding Worcester Tech squad. Key victories fueled Blackstone Valley’s point total. Samuel Stringer sprinted to gold in the 100-meter dash, stopping the clock at 11.28 seconds. Andrew Noble followed with a 200-meter dash win in 23.26 seconds. In the field, Andrew Prophet soared to first in the high jump, while Kenny Kalvinek dominated both the discus and shot put. The 4×100 relay team also captured gold, showcasing seamless baton exchanges and raw speed. Beyond their champions, the Beavers collected multiple top-three finishes, most notably in the javelin throw and 800-meter run, underscoring the squad’s depth. This runner-up showing caps an undefeated 4-0 regular season, highlighting Blackstone Valley’s balanced excellence across sprints, jumps, throws, and relays. With postseason meets on the horizon, the Beavers aim to build on this performance and vie for a league title before the season concludes.
