Northbridge claimed a quality win over Hopedale Wednesday night, prevailing 50-37 and moving back to an even 6-6 record. The game was tight early, tied 15-15 after one, before the Rams built a 26-21 edge at the half. Hopedale battled back in the third, briefly seizing momentum, but Northbridge slammed the door with a decisive quarter that put the game away.
Chloe Barnatt led the Rams with an 18-point, 10-rebound double-double, anchoring both the offense and the glass. Maya MacLeod filled the stat sheet with seven points, seven boards, four assists, and four steals, giving Northbridge multiple ways to score and creating turnovers that led to transition points. Those combinations of inside toughness and active defense proved decisive against a competitive Blue Raiders squad.
The win is Northbridge’s second straight and sets up a challenging road test at Sutton tonight at 6:30 p.m. The Suzies come in at 9-5 and are riding recent momentum after a win over South, so Northbridge will need Barnatt to control the paint and the roster to convert late possessions if the Rams want to notch back-to-back victories and climb above .500.
