MILFORD, MASS. — Milford Post 59 delivered one of its most impressive performances of the young American Legion season Wednesday night, rolling past Shrewsbury Post 397 by a score of 12-0 in five innings at Fitton Field in Worcester.

The story of the game was Milford pitcher Tyler Ballard, who was untouchable on the mound. Ballard tossed a complete-game no-hitter across five innings, striking out six batters and never allowing Shrewsbury to gain any offensive momentum. The dominant outing highlighted a complete team effort as Milford improved to 5-1 on the season.

Milford wasted no time providing its ace with run support. In the first inning, center fielder Jackson Fournier delivered the game’s biggest offensive swing, belting a three-run inside-the-park home run to give Post 59 an immediate 3-0 advantage.

The offense never let up from there. Milford scored in every inning, steadily building its lead and putting the game out of reach early. Left fielder Ben Maiorano and second baseman Joey McGee each drove in multiple runs as the lineup continued to produce from top to bottom.

The combination of timely hitting, aggressive baserunning, and dominant pitching proved too much for a talented Shrewsbury squad to overcome.

The victory marks another statement win for Milford, which has quickly established itself as one of the area’s top American Legion teams. With a 5-1 record and momentum firmly on its side, Post 59 will look to keep its hot streak alive when it hosts Grafton later tonight at 7:00 p.m.
