DOUGLAS – Community spirit was on full display at the Douglas Town Common as local volunteers stepped up to help get the gardens ready for the season.
Vicky Peck dedicated several hours to cleaning up the banking areas, making significant progress. Thanks to her efforts, both small garden areas are now ready for mulch, and work on the larger banking near the Douglas end is well underway.
Kimberly Janes also pitched in later in the day, continuing the cleanup and helping move the project forward.
Organizers say they are incredibly grateful for the community support and hope to have the area fully prepped for mulch in the coming week.
