MILFORD – What began as a cherished childhood memory in her grandmother’s kitchen has grown into a purpose-driven local cookie business for Rebecca, owner of Seriously Sweet Treats — a gourmet cookie brand specializing in handcrafted, small-batch cookies made with organic ingredients and a focus on quality, integrity and community.
“I wanted something that was good, made well and home baked, basically,” says Rebecca. After encountering mostly mass-produced options, she decided to build a business centered on gourmet cookies that reflect the care and craftsmanship she grew up with.
“When I think about my family… I want people to know that someone out there cares about what they’re ingesting, cares about what they’re putting into their body,” Rebecca mentions. “I want to give you something that you can be proud to eat.”
Beyond ingredients, community involvement is foundational to the brand. Rebecca has supported local initiatives, including the women’s luncheon for the Gilly’s House, and believes deeply in giving back.
“Showing somebody that you care can go very far and it can make all the difference in someone’s life,” Rebecca said.
Running Seriously Sweet Treats has also created meaningful impact within her own home. Rebecca uses proceeds from the business to help support her son, who has a disability. The flexibility of entrepreneurship has allowed her to be present for him while also giving him purpose within the business. Nowadays, her son plays an active role in the company.
“He’s become my social media assistant..it kind of gives him purpose” mentions Rebecca.
Looking ahead, Rebecca will be participating in five events at Vandervalk Winery and Farm, including Blueberry Fest and Cranberry Fest, where she plans to debut new cookie flavors.
