MEDWAY – The high cost of living, rising grocery prices, and growing heating bills are causing families to struggle, according to the Medway Village Food Pantry (MVFP). Coming this Giving Tuesday on December 2nd, the pantry is launching their third-annual “It Takes A Village” holiday campaign to help families in need.
“It Takes A Village” is an online peer-to-peer campaign to help raise funds for the stockage of shelves at the Medway Village Food Pantry. As of now, participants can create their own fundraiser through the pantry’s website and are encouraged to rally their friends and family. All proceeds can go to nutritious food, personal care items, and diapers for the pantry’s clients.
Michelle Reed, the director of communications at the MVFP, adds that students who participate can receive community service hours for participating.
More information regarding the initiative can be found here. The pantry is located in 170 Village Street in Medway.
