DOUGLAS – A beloved community tradition in Douglas will continue this year thanks to the quick action of several local businesses stepping up to help.
When the Douglas Town Common Easter Egg Hunt was at risk of not happening, Matthew McGoldrick of McGoldrick Property Services LLC reached out to fellow business owners Patrick Burgess of Burgess Electric Inc and Mike Crowley of Crowley Plumbing LLC. The three businesses came together to provide the remaining funds needed to keep the family-friendly event alive.
The event is hosted by Douglas Town Common Preservation Society Inc, a volunteer-run group dedicated to preserving the historic Town Common and organizing community gatherings.
Families attending the event can enjoy free photos with the Easter Bunny (bring your own camera), along with an Easter pail and bunny ears for the first 100 registered children under age 10. Tickets will be available starting at 11 AM while supplies last, and a registration table will be set up on site.
Parking will be available on Common Street, at the nearby church, or at Veteran’s Field.
Thanks to strong community support and local businesses stepping up, this Douglas tradition will once again bring families together for a day of fun on the Town Common.
