UXBRIDGE — On January 7, Scafuto’s Barbershop donated $500 to the Uxbridge Senior Center to help support its programs and services. The donation was made possible through the barbershop’s ornament and tumbler fundraiser, with all proceeds benefiting the Senior Center.
According to owner Felicia Scafuto, supporting the Uxbridge Senior Center has become an annual tradition. “They do so much for local seniors year-round, and it feels like they don’t always receive much support around the holidays,” Scafuto said. “I started this tradition three years ago, and I plan to continue making donations every holiday season.”
Giving back to the community is a core part of the barbershop’s mission, Scafuto added. Currently, the shop is also hosting a fundraiser to support the family of Officer Stephen LaPorta following his passing and is just $1,500 away from reaching its $4,000 goal.
“This town helped me through the worst time of my life,” Scafuto said. “Being there for the community when they need support isn’t even a question.”
Since opening in 2020, Scafuto’s Barbershop has faced several challenges. After completing a major 11-chair expansion, the shop was forced to leave its previous location due to a roof collapse. The business is currently operating out of a temporary unit on South Main Street and plans to return to its original location once repairs are completed.
Scafuto’s Barbershop is also seeking an experienced barber to join its team. Those interested can contact [email protected] or visit the shop at 2 South Main Street in Uxbridge.
