This week, MyFM added a new face to its already stacked roster of talent. Ty McCormack, music director for WGAO 88.3 in Franklin, begins his journey into the realm of commercial radio as an intern for 101.3.
The possibilities for his duties as an intern are endless, as MyFM offers opportunities in audio production, on-air talent, sports broadcasting, and much more. As stated in an interview, McCormack is excited for any hands-on experience that is handed to him during his tenure with 101.3.
McCormack is a laid-back individual that enjoys the simple things in life. He loves to catch up on the latest TV shows and movies, as well as watch the Red Sox play in Fenway Park with his father. In other words, McCormack is a mix between your likeable laid-back friend and typical Bostonian.
As he interns at MyFM, McCormack continues to pursue his education at Dean College, where he earned his role as the music director for the school’s FCC-licensed radio station, Power 88. McCormack boosted through the ranks with his exceptional on-air performance for WGAO, which is where many of our staff began their decorated radio career. Examples include Chris Caraballo, David Usher, Nate Merowitz, and Tyler Lawton.
McCormack’s excitement for his new opportunity with us cannot be understated. He’s thrilled to work alongside a talent group that he grew familiar with at Dean College, and McCormack hopes to become a professional on-air talent someday. Perhaps you may hear him on our airwaves one day, which may not be too far off from now!
