Michael Joseph DePalo, 74, of Northborough
1951 - 2026

Michael Joseph DePalo, 74, of Northborough, passed away peacefully at Rose Monahan Hospice on October 27th, 2026. He was a beloved father, brother, and friend.

Born in New York City to Anna and Joseph DePalo, Michael grew up in Herkimer, New York, with his parents and four sisters. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Syracuse University before moving to Massachusetts, where he built his career and raised his family. He worked primarily as a supply chain manager in the technology industry and traveled internationally for work.

Michael’s greatest joy was his family, particularly his children, Danielle and Joseph, who were at the center of his life. He was also known as someone who was always willing to lend a hand. He enjoyed working on projects around his home, caring for his yard and garden, and working on his cars. The coast of Maine was another favorite place.

Michael had a generous spirit and took great care in choosing gifts for family and friends. Even while dealing with illness, he wanted to make sure every trick-or-treater who visited his home received a full-sized candy bar on Halloween.

He also developed a deep love for animals. Despite once insisting he did not like cats, Michael leaves behind his beloved cat, Charlie, as well as several grandcats. He enjoyed watching wildlife in his backyard and meeting dogs on walks, particularly golden retrievers.

Michael was predeceased by his parents, Anna and Joseph DePalo; his sister, Marie Glaser; and his nephew, Paul Savas.

He is survived by his children, Danielle DePalo and Joseph DePalo; his sisters, Phyllis DePalo, JoAnn Savas, and Linda Loudon; numerous nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews; brothers-in-law Tom Glaser, Greg Savas, and Steven Loudon; and lifelong friend Bill Stack. He also leaves his close neighbors Lorraine Cain, her daughter Regis, and grandson Conall, who became like family to him.

A calling hour will be held Saturday, November 14th, from noon to 1 PM at Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home, located at 62 West Main Street in Westborough. A celebration of life luncheon will follow, with details to be announced during the calling hour.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or Boston Children’s Hospital, causes that were important to Michael.
