Franklin Community Raising Funds for Student Achievement Sign

FRANKLIN – A committee of Franklin High School parents and school officials is raising funds for a permanent 15-foot Student Achievement Sign on Panther Way honoring the school’s championship tradition.

The sign will recognize 12 Franklin High School Division I state championship teams dating back to 1982, with room to recognize future achievements in athletics, performing arts and academic competitions. Research into championships before 1982 is still ongoing.

This is a community-funded project, with all funding coming from parents, booster organizations, local businesses and other community members rather than the school budget. Organizers have raised $36,900 toward a $55,000 goal, leaving $18,100 still needed.

Championship alumni and their families are encouraged to contribute, while organizers are also seeking 8 to 10 local business Community Partners. Businesses will receive sponsorship benefits, recognition at a spring ribbon-cutting ceremony and permanent recognition on the sign. Individual and corporate donors contributing more than $500 will also be recognized on the signage.

Those interested in supporting the project can view the Sponsor Information Packet or donate through UniPay.
