MASSACHUSETTS – Charles River Bank is once again bringing back two holiday traditions aimed at supporting local families and community organizations — its annual Food Drive and Angel Tree programs.
Throughout December, Charles River Bank branches will collect nonperishable food and essential items for the Medway, Mendon and Bellingham food pantries. Donations can be dropped off at local branches from December 1st through December 31st. Needed items include canned meats, soups and stews, cereal, pasta, other nonperishable foods, paper goods, diapers and personal hygiene products. Donations will be delivered to the food pantries at the end of December.
The bank is also continuing its Angel Tree program in partnership with the Salvation Army of Milford. Charles River Bank plans to adopt approximately 30 to 50 local children, with Angel Tree tags providing each child’s age, clothing size and holiday wish list.
Community members who participate can purchase new, unwrapped gifts and return them to the Charles River Bank Medway office in a large bag with the child’s wish list tag attached. Gift collection dates will be announced soon, with gifts typically due back by the second week of December.
Additional information about the Angel Tree program will be shared through Charles River Bank’s social media channels. Those interested in participating can also contact [email protected].
“Each year, we look forward to seeing our employees, customers, and community members come together to support local families and organizations during the holiday season,” said Derek Plourde, President and CEO of Charles River Bank. “These traditions are a meaningful way for us to give back to the communities we are proud to serve.”
Founded in 1915, Charles River Bank provides personal and business banking services through locations in Medway, Mendon and along the Bellingham/Franklin town line, as well as a branch inside Medway High School. In 2024, the bank contributed more than $43,000 to community nonprofit organizations.
