Judith Hattersley Oldfield, 73, of Hopedale
1942 - 2026

Judy was a graduate of Hopedale High School and spent her career working for the Calarese family. She began at the former Rico’s Supermarket in Hopedale and ultimately retired from Calarese Development in Franklin. She was known for her reliability, loyalty, and quiet dedication.

Family was at the center of Judy’s life. She is survived by her son, Frederick G. Oldfield III of Hopedale; nephew Steven T. Sessa of Colorado; niece Lynda A. Sessa Boucher of Medway; two great-nephews, one great-niece, and one great-great-niece. She was predeceased by her sister, Sandra A. Hattersley Sessa.

Judy was a lifelong member of the Hopedale Unitarian Parish, where she was active in Sunday School, Youth Group, the Parish Board, and especially the choir. Her faith and commitment to serving others were important parts of her life.

She was also an avid reader who enjoyed visiting the Bancroft Memorial Library. She found happiness in cross-stitching, dinners with friends, Friday night meals, and Sunday dinners at Restaurant 45 with her son. Judy will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, devotion to family, and steadfast faith.

Visiting hours will be held Friday, October 9th, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at the Hopedale Unitarian Parish, located at 65 Hopedale Street in Hopedale. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 AM in the church.
