Claire D. Dolan, 98, of Holliston
1927 - 2026

Claire was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who cherished her family. She combined a scientific mind with an artistic spirit, enjoying painting, drawing, knitting, crocheting, crafts, and sharing her love of animals. She also enjoyed playing cards and Rummikub with friends.

Claire earned a degree in chemical engineering before becoming a seventh- and eighth-grade science teacher in the Holliston school system, a career she truly loved. Her faith was also an important part of her life, and she was a longtime member of Saint Mary’s Church in Holliston. Claire loved traveling, with Antigua among her favorite destinations, and spent summers on Cape Cod with family and friends.

Later in life, Claire lived at The Willows in Westborough, where she remained active and social and served as president of the residents’ association.

She is survived by her children, Claire Shahkar and her husband, Mehran, of California; Joan Allard and her husband, Roger, of Hopedale; Deirdre Marsh and her husband, David, of Cape Cod; and Elizabeth Roberts and her husband, Arthur, of Connecticut. She also leaves grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family. She was predeceased by her sisters-in-law, Mary and Josephine Dolan.
