MASSACHUSETTS – Three state lawmakers are asking Amazon to pause plans for its proposed drone delivery operation in Westborough while the company addresses concerns raised by area residents.
State Senator Michael Moore and Representatives Kate Donaghue and Hannah Kane sent a letter to Amazon following a September 23 community meeting. They cited questions about noise, flight frequency, flight paths, operating hours, privacy, safety, cybersecurity and environmental impacts.
Amazon is proposing to operate Prime Air drones from its Otis Street facility in Westborough, with a potential delivery radius of about 7.5 miles. The company still needs to complete the local approval process, with the Westborough Planning Board expected to continue its review in October.
