1953 - 2026
Lynn retired from her position as a U.S. Customs file clerk at the World Trade Center several years before September 11th, 2001. She was known for her love of social activities and her famous long, winding letters documenting the people, places, and experiences that filled her life.
Lynn had a passion for fashion and carefully coordinated her outfits for every occasion. She enjoyed crafts, field trips, photography, beading, painting, drawing, celebrations, shopping, manicures, and all things pink. A self-taught crocheter, she created and gifted blankets, hats, purses, and scarves to family and friends, while also selling some of her handmade creations and jewelry.
She loved keeping lists and carefully maintaining her bowling archives. Her many interests included watching television and the Patriots, reading newspapers, solving word games, singing, playing Bingo and Skip-Bo, walking, going to the theater, visiting casinos, and enjoying ice cream, pizza, chocolates, and meringues. She also participated in a chime music group, playing hand bells at performances throughout the area.
Lynn was known for her outgoing personality, sense of humor, and genuine interest in the people she met. She rarely met someone she did not like and always made an effort to treat others well. Despite developmental challenges, numerous serious health issues, and early predictions about her life expectancy, Lynn exceeded expectations and lived her life with determination, curiosity, and enthusiasm.
She is survived by her siblings, Lois Sapio of California and Gary Estler and his wife, Elizabeth, of Massachusetts; nieces Lisa Sapio and her partner, Bill Swisher, of Wyoming; Maria Sapio and her partner, Cyrus Motamed, of Hawaii; and Christianne Liberatore and her husband, Anthony, of Connecticut and California; as well as many cousins, in-laws, friends, and others whose lives she touched.
Lynn will be remembered for her pride, joy, courage, curiosity, charm, and, of course, her love of candy.
Services will be private.
Arrangements are under the care of the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home in Medway.
