MEDWAY – Medway Community Farm is reportedly receiving a $73,000 state grant to purchase a refrigerated vehicle.
The Franklin Observer reports the funding is part of approximately $7 million in grants awarded to 72 farms, fisheries, food banks and other community organizations across Massachusetts.
The grants are intended to strengthen the state’s local food system and help organizations purchase equipment and make facility improvements needed to produce, store and distribute food. The funding comes through the Food Security Infrastructure Grant Program.
