Born in Milford, Eric was the son of the late Dean W. Miller Sr. and Angelina “Angie” (Rosati) Miller. He attended Milford Public Schools and graduated from Milford High School with the Class of 1983. He continued his education at Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island, where he earned a degree in culinary arts.
Eric began his culinary career working in the kitchen at Oliva’s Market in Milford. He went on to work as a chef at several restaurants throughout the greater Milford area, including the former Vittorio’s Restaurant in Milford, Carbone’s Restaurant in Hopkinton and O’Toole’s Pub in Milford and later Hopkinton. For the past 20 years, Eric served as head chef at Milford Regional Medical Center.
Outside of the kitchen, Eric was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved spending time near the ocean and going to the beach and was a devoted fan of New England sports teams.
Eric is survived by his beloved wife and companion of 16 years, Susanne; his two sons, Boden Miller and Keenan Miller, both of Medway; his siblings, Mary-Ellen Filosa and her husband, Peter, of Milford; Dean W. Miller Jr. and his wife, Annie Graziano-Miller, of Rockport; and Dana Miller and his wife, Cheryl, of Uxbridge. He also leaves several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Eric was predeceased by his brother, James M. Miller, who passed away in 2002.
In accordance with Eric’s wishes, cremation will take place.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, September 5, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, located at 44 Congress Street in Milford. A prayer service will follow at 11:00 AM.
A private committal service for Eric’s cremains will be held at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Milford at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Milford Daily Bread Food Pantry, located at P.O. Box 122 in Milford.
