1946 - 2026
Eric graduated from Wilfred Academy and served in the National Guard as a member of the 215th Army Band. He met Jane, his wife of 58 years, while working at International Paper.
Eric went on to spend 25 years at Honeywell Inc., where he served as manager of the printing department. He later worked alongside his best friend, Peter, as a driver for JFK Transportation in Natick before finding a job he truly loved as a parts driver for Muzi Motors in Needham. He enjoyed traveling the highways in his pickup truck, making friends along the way and fitting in stops at Dunkin.
A man of deep faith, Eric was a longtime active member of East Natick United Methodist Church. He served in Adult Education and as a trustee, chairman of the Administrative Council and lay leader. He also sang in the choir and was a featured soloist until the church closed in 2000. He then joined the United Parish of Upton.
Eric was also a member of Jack the Barber’s AA group for 37 years. Following his sobriety, he devoted himself to living life to the fullest, cherishing his family and the time he believed God had given him.
Eric loved camping with family and friends, metal detecting, tinkering, and trying to understand the latest technology. His family knew Grandpa as someone who always seemed to have an answer—or could build a contraption to solve the problem.
He took pride in his woodpiles and keeping his wife warm, as well as his garden and carefully maintained yard. More recently, he treasured quiet evenings at home with a puzzle and a fire. He also cherished weeks spent with his family at timeshares in Newport, Rhode Island, and Lincoln, New Hampshire, where they played games, talked, laughed, and simply enjoyed being together.
Above all, Eric treasured his soulmate and the love of his life, Jane. Their 58-year marriage was a bond beyond words. Eric believed wholeheartedly that his job on Earth was to take care of her, and he remained devoted to that promise until his final breath.
Together, Eric and Jane raised two children: Lauren Webb and her husband, Robb, of Hopedale, and Eric “Rick” Seaholm and his wife, Nicola, of Framingham.
Eric adored his two grandchildren, Graydon and Sutton Webb of Hopedale, while his son Ricky proved to be his favorite duet partner.
He also leaves his sister, Barbara Wildman, and her children, Linnea, Marc and Karl and their families; his brother, Nels Seaholm; his sister-in-law, Mary Sue Thompson, and her children, Craig Thompson and Jill Murphy and their families; his brother-in-law, John Allison; and his nieces and nephews, Lynda Kelly, David Kelly, and Mark Kelly, his wife Diana, and their children.
Eric was predeceased by his parents, Eric and Lillian Seaholm; his brother, Robert Seaholm; his nephew, Kurt Wildman; his brother and sister-in-law, John and Cecilia Kelley; his father-in-law, Luther Allison; his best friend, Peter Thompson; and his beloved mother-in-law, Orlena Allison.
A private funeral will be held.
Arrangements are under the care of the Chesmore Funeral Home of Hopkinton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Eric’s memory to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research, a cause that held a special place in his heart.
