Richard was born on September 2nd, 1939, in Bainbridge, New York. He went on to build a career at Hanscom Air Force Base in Bedford, Massachusetts, where he was a member of the Air Force Geophysics Laboratory and worked as an accomplished illustrator until his retirement.
A remarkably talented artist, Richard especially excelled in watercolor painting. His artistic abilities earned recognition throughout his life, including First Prize for watercolor artistry at the Museum of Russian Icons in Clinton.
Richard’s creativity extended beyond visual art. He was also a gifted pianist who enjoyed playing for family and friends, particularly during special occasions and gatherings.
Richard made his home in Milford with his husband, Ed Vento, and their rescued Shih-Poo, Kingston.
In addition to his husband, Richard leaves his niece, Barbara Stohner; his nephew, William Stohner; his two grandnephews, Bill and Matthew Stohner; and the many neighbors and friends who loved him.
Richard will be deeply missed by those fortunate enough to have known him and experienced his friendship, creativity, and many talents.
