1959 - 2026
Charlie was the son of the late Charles S. Morreale and Marie “Lou” N. Morreale. Raised in Framingham, he graduated from Joseph P. Keefe Technical Vocational School, where he developed his skills in carpentry and cabinet making. His determination and work ethic were apparent from an early age, and at just 18 years old, Charlie purchased his first home.
In addition to his wife, Debbie, Charlie is survived by his children, Julie A. Gonet and her husband, Daniel, of Carver; Daniel “Dan” C. Morreale and his wife, Julie, of Uxbridge; and Shawn P. Morreale and his wife, Felicia, of Berlin.
He was the proud grandfather of Sophia and Daniel “Gunner” Morreale and Hunter and Sawyer Gonet. He also leaves his brothers, Richard J. Morreale and his wife, Kim, of Franklin, and Allen P. Morreale and his wife, Sheila, of Upton; his goddaughter, Kristina Barber (Morreale); and many others whose lives he touched.
Charlie was predeceased by his first wife, Michele A. Morreale (Hogan), formerly of Ashland, and his sister, Linda Morreale-Steele of Arizona.
Charlie built an accomplished career through hard work, leadership, and a willingness to take on new challenges. After beginning his career as an assembler with Nanmac Corporation and working in carpentry and other labor positions, he joined Bradford White Water Heaters.
During his 12 years with the company, Charlie quickly advanced from Lead Assembler to Lead Warehouse Manager and later Distribution Warehouse Manager, overseeing warehouse operations across Massachusetts. His leadership at the Westborough location earned the attention of company officials, who selected him to help implement his successful operational strategies at a new facility in Reno, Nevada.
His success ultimately led to a position as Analyst Manager for the SABH U.S. Water Heater Group, requiring Charlie to travel to company locations throughout the country.
Despite his professional success, family always came first. In 1992, after learning his first wife, Michele, was ill, Charlie stepped away from his executive position and extensive travel schedule to focus on caring for his family. They relocated from Bellingham to Hopedale to be closer to medical support, and Charlie began working as a manager for Webber Lumber in Milford in 1993.
Following Michele’s passing in 1994, Charlie faced the challenge of raising his family while rebuilding their lives. He later began a new professional chapter at the BJ’s Distribution Center in Uxbridge, where he served as General Manager for more than two decades.
Charlie was fortunate to find profound love twice in his life. Years after Michele’s passing, he joined a motorcycle club in Auburn, where he met Debbie. Together, they began a new chapter filled with love, companionship, and adventure.
Charlie lived life with tremendous energy. He enjoyed riding his Harley, skydiving, camping, speed boating, kayaking, hunting, fishing, scuba diving for lobsters, spending time at the beach, and traveling on cruises. He also supported the fight against Multiple Sclerosis through fundraising and walking with his team, “Morreale Madness.”
Some of Charlie’s greatest adventures, however, were those he shared with his family. From coaching Mighty Mites football and teaching his children to swim to family camping trips and even wearing a dress for a Mother-Daughter softball game, Charlie brought humor, enthusiasm, and love to being a father.
Through his example, he taught his family strength, resilience, wisdom, generosity, and the importance of lending a hand to others. His children affectionately called him “Superman,” a name that reflected the strength and perseverance they saw in him throughout his life.
Charlie endured tremendous hardships, including the loss of his first wife, raising his family as a single father, his prolonged battle with Multiple Sclerosis, and ultimately cancer. Through each challenge, he remained determined to live fully and support the people around him.
Above all, Charlie’s legacy is one of integrity, resilience, adventure, and boundless love for his family. Those closest to him will carry the lessons he taught and the memories they created together for generations to come.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Charlie’s life on Thursday, August 27th at the St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, located at 151 Mendon Street in Upton.
A visiting hour will be held in the church narthex from 10:30 to 11:45 AM, providing an opportunity to share memories and offer condolences to Charlie’s family.
A funeral Mass will follow at 12:00 PM.
A collation luncheon will be announced at the conclusion of Mass.
