GRAFTON — The Worcester Red Sox are inviting Grafton residents to show their hometown pride at Polar Park during a special Grafton Town Takeover on Thursday, Aug. 13.
The WooSox game is scheduled to begin at 6:45 p.m., with Grafton residents, families, businesses and community groups encouraged to attend and represent the town as part of the team’s season-long Town Takeover series.
The program is designed to celebrate communities across Central and Western Massachusetts while also giving back locally. Five dollars from every ticket purchased through the Grafton Town Takeover offer will be donated to a nonprofit organization in Grafton.
Each ticket sold through the town-specific offer will also count toward the Town Takeover Trophy, awarded at the end of the season to the participating community with the highest attendance. The winning town will receive the trophy along with special recognition from the WooSox.
Organizers are encouraging residents to bring family members, friends, neighbors and coworkers to Polar Park for the game and help Grafton make a strong showing.
Groups of 15 or more may also have access to additional ballpark experiences. Those interested in group opportunities can contact Tom Steiger at [email protected].
Local businesses looking to support Grafton’s Town Takeover can contact Dalton Bodreau at [email protected] for information about additional participation opportunities.
The Grafton Town Takeover takes place Thursday, Aug. 13 at 6:45 p.m. at Polar Park in Worcester, combining a night of WooSox baseball with an opportunity to raise money for a local Grafton cause and compete for some community bragging rights.
