MILFORD — The Aaron Zenus Foundation is preparing to launch its first annual Motorcycle Bike Run on Saturday, Sept. 26, bringing riders and community supporters together for a fundraiser benefiting programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
The event will be based at Italian Veterans, 4 Hayward Field in Milford, with registration running from 10:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. and kickstands up at noon.
The ride will follow a planned route before returning for an afternoon of food, fellowship and entertainment. A cookout, dinner, raffles and music by Ricky Robidoux are all planned, with the post-ride festivities beginning around 4 p.m.
Day-of registration is $25 per rider. Passengers and those attending for dinner only can participate for $15 each. Limited-edition event T-shirts will also be available on the day of the event.
The fundraiser will support the mission of the Aaron Zenus Foundation and Sweet Inspirations, helping create vocational, employment, social and recreational opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
As organizers prepare for the inaugural event, the foundation is also seeking local businesses and community members to serve as sponsors.
Sponsorship support will help make the event possible while providing participating businesses with recognition on event T-shirts and social media. The foundation is encouraging local organizations to get involved and help support its work in the community.
Whether participating in the ride, attending the post-ride festivities or supporting the event through a sponsorship, organizers say the Motorcycle Bike Run offers several ways for the community to contribute to the cause.
