1959 - 2026
Born in Milford, Michael was the son of the late Attilio P. Ferrucci and Lillian M. (Durgin) Ferrucci. He attended Milford Public Schools and graduated from Milford High School with the Class of 1976. He continued his education at UMass Amherst, graduating in 1980.
Michael’s professional life took him in many different directions. As a young man, he worked for UPS for approximately 15 years. He later became an economics professor at Dean College in Franklin. During the 1980s, Michael also spent time in New York City, where he worked as a fruit and vegetable vendor on Wall Street.
Eventually, Michael returned home to Milford to operate his family’s farm on Howard Street, a property that had been in the family for approximately 200 years. The farm became one of the great passions of his life. He loved gardening, managing the orchard, caring for the animals, and simply spending his days working outdoors.
A lifelong Milford resident, Michael spent most of his life in his hometown, apart from time spent in New York City during the late 1980s and a year living in Italy in 1987.
Michael had a wide variety of interests. He followed the stock market, was a member of the Lions Club, and loved music, particularly the Milford Band Concerts. He also enjoyed deep-sea fishing, history, cooking, and sharing his knowledge and passion for gardening through his involvement with the Milford Youth Center garden project.
Above all, Michael treasured his family. Time spent with his wife and children remained his greatest joy.
In addition to his wife, Michelle, Michael is survived by his five children, Angela LaChance and her husband, Ethan, of Providence, Rhode Island; Jennifer Ferrucci of Milford; Christina Ferrucci of Milford; Emily Ferrucci of Milford; and Anthony Ferrucci of Boston.
He also leaves his mother-in-law, Carol Deorsey of Uxbridge, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, and sisters-in-law.
Relatives and friends are invited to extend their condolences to Michael’s family on Wednesday, August 12th, from 5:00 to 7:00 AM at Edwards Memorial Funeral Home, located in 44 Congress Street in Milford.
In accordance with Michael’s wishes, cremation will follow.
