FRANKLIN/BELLINGHAM – Visitors using the Southern New England Trunkline Trail will now find additional places to stop and rest.
The Franklin & Bellingham Rail Trail Committee has installed four new benches along the trail, spacing them roughly every half mile between Franklin and Bellingham.
Committee members say the benches were funded through a Massachusetts Trails grant and fundraising efforts, including the organization’s annual Rail Trail 5K. The additions are intended to make the trail more accessible and welcoming, particularly for users with mobility challenges.
