Helen M. (Socha) Galica,100, of Westborough
1925 - 2026

Helen married Mieczyslaw ("Mike") Galica in 1950, and together they built a life centered on family, faith, and service. They moved to Westborough in 1966 with their four children and shared nearly 56 years of marriage before Mike's passing. Together, they enjoyed golfing, traveling, taking long walks, and volunteering with Meals on Wheels America.

A devoted member of St. Luke the Evangelist Church, Helen served as a Eucharistic Minister and volunteered with the parish's Martha & Mary Ministry as well as The Mustard Seed. She was also a gifted artist who found joy in sketching and oil painting. Remembered for her warmth, kindness, and gentle sense of humor, Helen especially cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Helen is survived by her children, Dr. Michael Galica and his wife, Christine, of Holden; Mary Anne Paul and her husband, John, of Asheville, North Carolina; Helene Hartnett and her husband, Stephen, of Oxford; and Kathryn Carliner of Maplewood, New Jersey. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband, Mike, and her siblings, Joseph, Leopold, Edward, Viola, Sofia Socha, Veronica Furtek, and Emily Larochelle.

Her family also expressed their heartfelt appreciation to the compassionate staff of Notre Dame Long Term Care Center for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity they provided throughout the years.

A calling hour will be held on Tuesday, July 28th, from 9:00 to 10:00 AM at the Pickering & Son Westborough Funeral Home (62 West Main Street, Westborough).

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM at the St. Luke the Evangelist Church (70 West Main Street, Westborough).

Burial will follow at St. Luke's Cemetery.
