Dorothy was predeceased by her husband, Steve Cantino. She was previously married to Thomas James "Sonny" Travaglia, the father of her children. Born in Somerville, she was the cherished daughter of the late William Francis Fyfe and Charlotte Louise (Mortell) Fyfe.
Dorothy was raised in Somerville and later lived in Wilmington and Reading before spending time with her daughter, Linda. She later resided in an assisted living community in Franklin and most recently at the Coleman House.
A graduate of Somerville High School, Dorothy studied business before marrying the month after graduation. Though she never attended college, she embraced lifelong learning through reading, curiosity, life experience, and a deep appreciation for people. She often said, "It is the education of who we become," a philosophy she lived every day.
Dorothy was an exceptional cook and baker who took great pride in preparing meals for her family. She also loved music and spent many happy years ballroom and country-western dancing with her dear friend, Joyce Kiesman.
She is survived by her daughter, Linda; her son, Bobby, and his wife Judy; and her cherished granddaughter, Sophia.
Dorothy was predeceased by her siblings, William Edward Fyfe, Shirley Loretta Cunningham, and Ronald Frederick Fyfe.
A funeral home service will be held on Tuesday, July 14th, 2026, at 9:00 AM from the Consigli-Ruggerio Funeral Home, 46 Water Street, Milford.
Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
Calling hours will be held on Monday from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the funeral home.
