WESTBOROUGH/HOPKINTON – After years of construction, detours, and shifting traffic patterns, drivers are just about ready to use the newly rebuilt connector from Interstate 90 to Interstate 495 southbound.
MassDOT says the new ramp is scheduled to open Friday morning, marking a major milestone in the ongoing overhaul of the busy interchange.
Before the new connector opens, crews will complete several final traffic changes. Tonight, lane closures will allow workers to remove the temporary traffic split on I-495 northbound, returning traffic to its normal alignment. Then, from 8 PM Thursday until 5 AM Friday, additional lane closures will be in place on I-495 between Exits 58 and 59 as crews prepare to open the new interchange to motorists.
