MILFORD – The Friends of the Milford Upper Charles Trail recently teamed up with the Milford Police Department and UMass Memorial Health to host a successful Bike Safety & Helmet Giveaway at the Louisa Lake Trailhead in Milford.

Held on Sunday, June 28th, the community event welcomed riders of all ages for an afternoon focused on bicycle safety and injury prevention.

Thanks to the efforts of volunteers, 30 individuals were properly fitted with new bicycle helmets during the event. Milford Police Chief Robert Tusino and Lt. Sousa were also on hand to discuss safe riding practices and share important bicycle safety tips with attendees.

Organizers thanked the many volunteers and community partners whose support helped make the event a success, noting that initiatives like these encourage safer riding while promoting healthy outdoor recreation along the Upper Charles Trail.
