Germany still finished atop the group, with Ivory Coast claiming second.
Japan and Sweden battled to a 1-1 draw, each finding the back of the net in the second half. Meanwhile, the Netherlands defeated Tunisia 3-1 behind another goal from Brian Brobbey to finish first in the group. Japan advanced as the runner-up, while Sweden also moved on as one of the top third-place teams.
Australia and Paraguay played to a scoreless draw before the United States closed out group play against Turkey. The Americans and Turks traded goals throughout an entertaining match before Turkey found a dramatic winner in the eighth minute of second-half stoppage time to claim a 3-2 victory.
Despite the loss, the United States had already secured first place in Group D and will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32 on July 1. Australia advances as the group runner-up, while Paraguay’s hopes rest on qualifying as a third-place team.
