Born in Milford, Marcia was the daughter of the late Gerald M. Dee and Edith I. (Faenza) Dee. She attended Hopedale Public Schools and graduated from Hopedale High School.
While Marcia was known for her easygoing personality, she was fiercely competitive when it came to athletics. As the starting center on her high school basketball team, she was one of the area's standout players. In one memorable victory over Medway High School, she scored an incredible 31 points—nearly matching Medway’s entire team total of 34 points. She also excelled as a dependable goalie on the school's field hockey team.
Throughout her career, Marcia worked close to home, holding positions at the Draper Corporation, Westinghouse Electric Corporation, and later serving as an administrative assistant for the Town of Mendon.
Away from work, Marcia embraced many interests. She was a devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Celtics, and she had a lifelong love of horses, spending many years riding and caring for them. Later in life, she enjoyed watching horse racing alongside her brother and sister-in-law. She also loved birdwatching, with a special fondness for cardinals.
Creativity was another of Marcia’s many talents. She crafted ceramic sculptures that became treasured gifts for family and friends. Long before cell phones became commonplace, she was well known on CB radio under the handle "Dolsey Day," enjoying conversations with fellow travelers during road trips.
After retirement, Marcia and her husband spent winters in Fort Myers, Florida, where they enjoyed attending Grapefruit League baseball games and relaxing at the beach. She especially treasured spending time with her nieces and nephews, whether enjoying a trip to Friendly’s or taking day trips into Boston.
Marcia is survived by her brothers, Gerald Dee and his wife Patricia of Uxbridge and John Dee of Hopedale; her nieces and nephews Michael Dee, Pamela Rosado, Alexander Rosado, Jenna Rosado, Jace Rosado, and Logan Rosado; her great-great-niece Juliette Rosado; her longtime best friend, Pam Sheldon; her stepchildren Deborah Valentine and her husband Robert of Auburn, and Charles Myers Jr. and his wife Jean of Fitchburg; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She will be remembered for her athletic accomplishments, artistic talents, love of family, and kind, spirited personality.
