MILFORD – The owner of a Milford construction company has been indicted by the Massachusetts Attorney General’s Office on charges related to alleged workers’ compensation insurance fraud.

According to the Attorney General’s Office, a state grand jury indicted Edwin Bueno after prosecutors alleged he operated a four-year scheme that misclassified subcontractors as performing siding or painting work when they were actually completing roofing jobs, which carry significantly higher workers’ compensation insurance premiums.

Prosecutors allege the scheme defrauded Travelers Insurance of more than $20,000. The case will now proceed through the court system.
