MILFORD – Pharmaceutical manufacturer Nitto Denko Avecia has agreed to pay an $850,000 penalty as part of a settlement with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.

According to the EPA, the settlement resolves alleged violations involving hazardous waste management, including concerns about waste tank systems, equipment inspections, storage labeling, and contingency planning requirements.

Federal officials say the company has since taken corrective actions, including implementing a leak detection and repair program for tanks and related equipment at its Milford facility.
